How is this for a kick-start for the week? Everywhere I go there are signs that I’m not in Kansas any more! As a matter of record there is even a new word called chaordial – the edge between order and chaos – to label the incredible tumultuous, magical energy that at times can physically exhaust, drain or bring us to our knees in prayer.
After struggling so long trying to create on the outside what my life would look like if it was normal, I have finally come up with a new plan. From the depths of my soul trying to figure out from all this exotic, wild and crazy energy I have discovered the secret at least for this week. Alas, I’m motivated to do something different. As it has been said over and over, doing the same things and expecting different results never works! I realized that regret was only eating at my soul! There is a silent whisper within each of us calling us to remind ourselves what we could be, knowing full-well all that we are. It’s that voice within that keeps urging us to create something bigger. Something better!
This is the plan: Live your life as though your life depended on it – simply because it does! After all it’s the only life worth living. And who could do it better than ourselves? Make living your priority now. Get busy treating your life as you would a new and passionate business or project you want to create. And just like giving birth, at times it will be messy, chaotic and irrational. Moreover, know that you will lose your way; however, it is much easier to accept since it is only the first draft.
Make a commitment today to create the best life ever using all your energy, passion and intelligence, of which you have plenty of. It’s a daily task but one worth manifesting. Start seeding your life in the image of what you want to be doing, As Shakespeare wrote, “We are such stuff as dreams are made on; and our little life is rounded with a sleep!” Get drunk on loving your life! In his 1910 Man in the Arena speech, Theodore Roosevelt stated, “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly.”
What’s more, in order for us to be willing to create something new we have to be vulnerable. We have to have the courage to show up and be seen even if it means risking disappointment, failure, hurt, shame or having our hearts broken. We have to be our own hero and risk the illusion of imperfection by taking the risk to say ‘I deserve more’. I had to search for the courage to find a higher place to live from. For me that place was to a be in service to possibly something greater than my own self interest.
But as the light grows brighter these days at least in the Northern Hemisphere, what is eclipsing everything else is the need to notice is how much as a society we need to cultivate more courage to surrender to what is and to create the best hand with the cards that we are dealt. It’s our job to follow our bliss and do what makes us come alive.
I promise you going deeper and deeper navigating an “inward arc”, a journey of increasing intimacy with yourself — whatever emerges will be beyond your wildest dreams. When you start to live on purpose the universe will respond in kind by a generosity of Spirit that is beyond description.
There are no words to convey my deep appreciation for what is happening around me in these ‘chaordial’ times. The blissitude I receive just allowing myself to sit in the Grace of it all is something one can only experience by doing and becoming whatever is closest to their heart.
You are being asked to re-enchant and re-imagine your world, and to see it with a new vision. The best place to start would be to open into your heart and in its limitless potential ask your heart’s wise and wild intelligence what is the greatest and grandest version I can be for myself today. Start there and then with unconditional love, compassion and self-discovery I invite you to start creating your masterpiece.
